Midnight Rain

Oh! It came pouring
Down in my rust roof
All in their cuddle snoring,
Rolling from edge to edge aloof,
The tearing and cry of the infant
Is heard no more even in its scream,
Shadowed by the harmonious pant
Of the consistent beat and rhythm.
Falling Down, pooling up, hitting hard
Out of the sky, into my head.
Rain by mother Nature,
She sets up and dims the lights
Her orchestra of wind blowing
through lush green trees
The sound of ghost in dark
It brings to mind the grave yard.
Builds from a whisper to a forte
Beautiful lightening cast blinding light
As thunder rocks everywhere
What is this wet that comes from above,
That some call disaster, and others find,
The harder it falls, the less it is.
This one falls at midnight,
Oh! Midnight rain, how I love thee…
Thy coherent rhythmic beat on rust zinc.
Thy breeze, thy touch, thy sound
I love thee, midnight rain
Rain Rain till its dawn…
